It currently has an impressive 4.8 star rating with 10 reviews and was one of three novels shortlisted for the prestigious 2005 Dundee Book Prize. “Both stories flowed together and I cared for all the characters. The writing in this book is so tight you could bounce a quarter off of it. There is no “fluff” or wasted words, and yet the descriptions of the locale, the people, the mood were so concise and perfect.” –Lorissa Kay Evans
A Little About The Curiosity Cabinet:
When Alys revisits the beautiful Hebridean island of Garve after an absence of twenty-five years, she is captivated by the embroidered casket on display in her hotel. She discovers that it belongs to Donal, her childhood playmate, and soon they resume their old friendship. Interwoven with the story of their growing love, is the darker tale of Henrietta Dalrymple, kidnapped by the formidable Manus McNeill and held on Garve against her will. With three hundred years separating them, the women are linked by the cabinet and its contents, by the tug of motherhood and by the magic of the island itself. But Garve has its secrets, past and present. Donal must learn to trust Alys enough to confide in her and, like Henrietta before her, Alys must earn the right to belong.

A Little About The Survival of Thomas Ford:
Thomas Ford is the lone survivor of the car crash which killed his wife. He is also the only witness who would be willing to identify the young, reckless driver who caused the crash. But the driver has no intention of letting himself be identified, not to mention what his father’s intentions are…or those of his girlfriend, Lorna, the hospital cleaner.
The young driver’s father is Jack McCallum, a powerful entrepreneur who has built a housing empire, McCallum Homes. Jack has his own dark secret to protect. Robert Ferguson, the passenger who was with the young driver on the day of the crash, curses himself for ever getting into the car. In the end, fate will pull them all far out of the city, some of them to the moonlit hillside, where white butterflies and mysterious gas fill the air, and wild cats wrap themselves around cold trees.
In any case, the young driver has it in mind to take his destiny into his own hands now, which will soon lead to the life of a second young woman hanging in the balance, awaiting salvation or destruction, perhaps only the Fates, or the wind that blows through the trees, know which.

What Fan’s Are Saying About The Survival of Thomas Ford:
“The characters are well-developed, with a depth and realism unusual in contemporary writing. But the landscapes, the atmosphere, the settings also loom large in this book, taking on a life of their own. The prose is a pleasure to read and it ferries the reader quickly along the Styx to the inexorable windswept hill of horrors.” –Leila Smith
“Long after finishing the book, Jimmy continues to insert himself into my thoughts–a terrifying and thought-provoking presence.” –Anna Daniels
“The consequence of in-depth, detailed, controlled writing (especially interesting in a novel where one of the characters is obsessed with Chaos theory) was that reading it became like waiting for the moment of impact… that’s the best way I can explain the suspense engendered by the author. The imagery is strong, haunting and sometimes horrific, but then you wouldn’t expect to walk away unscathed from a car crash now would you?” –C. Wight

It currently has a whopping 4.4 star rating with over 72 reviews. “PLUMMET is a book that only someone who has been in the legal trenches could have written. Michael Zarocostas has staked his claim as one of the premier writers of the legal thriller. I give PLUMMET five stars. It would be a crime not to read it.” Suspense Magazine – 5 STARS
A Brief Synopsis of PLUMMET:
Micah Grayson is an eager rookie fresh out of law school. Raphael Bianco is a degenerate senior associate who’s never met a temptation he could resist. Gabe Weiss is a millionaire senior partner who has a dream life. All three are litigators at Sullivan & Adler, the most powerful law firm in Manhattan. Two of them share a lover. One of them will kill in cold blood. But who is his victim? A dark why-dun-it set in the backstabbing conference rooms of corporate law.
About the Author:
Michael Zarocostas is a lawyer and writer who lives in Los Angeles with his beautiful wife Lianna, their amazing daughter Vesta, and two obese rescued cats Vito and Luca. He is represented by Penn Whaling of the Ann Rittenberg Literary Agency, which represents world-renowned authors such as Dennis Lehane and CJ Box. What Readers Are Saying About PLUMMET:
“A really entertaining, really fast-paced legal thriller. Zarocostas does a great job building the world of the law firm, and the reader gets an inside look at the extremely cutthroat world of big-time law firms. …A terrific book.” David Kazzie (author of The Jackpot, an Amazon Bestseller)
“5 out of 5 stars for PLUMMET: I came across this great novel on the Kindle free reads list the other day and I could not put it down. I’m a senior paralegal in a major law firm in midtown Manhattan and I honestly felt like I was reading a day in my life. I got such a kick out of reading such accurate descriptions of the customs and people of a major law firm. Little things, such as the litigators not eating lunch in the firm cafeteria on purpose just to show who is billing more is spot-on. As for the writing style, the story itself is superb and really keeps you guessing. The change in time periods works very well here and is used perfectly to engage the reader and to keep pace with the story as it unfolds. I also really commend Mr. Zarocostas on his character development. Although I can absolutely say I know a Gabe, a Raphael and a Micah, these are no caricatures of lawyer “types”. Mr. Zarocostas shows us their flaws (let’s just say no one here makes good decisions), yet they are written in such a way that the reader can understand their motivations. In other words, by the end of the novel they become real people regardless of their indiscretions and I think that’s a testament to Mr. Zarocostas’s writing. In summation, if you’d like to read a very detailed, realistic account of what it’s like to work at a major NYC law firm while also reading a smart murder thriller/mystery, look no further. Please keep writing Mr. Zarocostas!” — Alaina (NYC)
