A Brief Summary of Hamelin’s Child:

Michael Redford’s world ended the day he turned seventeen. The same night Eddie shot him full of heroin, assaulted him, and yanked him off the street.

Now known as Mikey, he sleeps during the day and uses his charming looks to pick up clients at night. Memories are all that remain of his old life, and he knows there is no return to his middle-class lifestyle.

Then he meets Lee. A child of the streets, Lee expects more from a friendship than Mikey is willing to give. With the police on their trail, he isn’t sure if he’s the street-smart Mikey, or the old Michael Redford.

About the Author:

Debbie is a middle-aged boring English civil servant with a secret life as a writer…She’s worked in law enforcement for over 25 years, in a variety of different roles, which may be why the darker side of life tends to emerge in her writing. If she makes enough money selling books, perhaps she’ll be able to afford counselling instead. www.debbiebennett.co.uk

What Fan’s Are Saying About Hamelin’s Child:

“One of the most utterly gripping books I’ve ever read.” –Marj

“…much more than the plight of a kidnapped male child, forced into drugs and prostitution. It is a story that will remain on your mind long after you read it and make you want to protect your sons as much as you would your daughters.” –Ey Wade

“While the subject matter is dark, Michael is a character you will care about. Even as he makes unwise choices and immerses himself in the very lifestyle he hates, he manages to hang onto his soul.” –Mike M.

  1. My children are all grown; however, I have a grandson, nephews and great nephews. I worry about these issues as do most parents. Which is truly shameful that we have to. I know from what I have read so far that this is going to be a very hard book to read, but one that is part of reality today. These stories need to be out there so everyone is reminded that we need to be more vigilant in saving our children from such atrocities.~
